Expansion Joints are constructed of ChemShield®

FlexCom® expansion joints are constructed of ChemShield®, a composite material designed to provide maximumFlat Belt strength and protection for environmental conditions. The composite is a Teflon® coated, high strength fiberglass cloth which is laminated to a sheet of pure Teflon® and is used on our U-Belts, Flat Belts and Custom Shapes..

ChemShield ®
Our standard material is widely used for wet and dry applications. 2 ply construction includes PTFE film laminated to a PTFE-coated fiberglass. Various thicknesses available. This expansion joint material is typically used on our U-Belts, Flat Belts and Custom Shapes.

Chemshield II ®
Used for abrasive applications or when high pressure or vacuum is present.  A much thicker 3 ply construction using an inner PTFE film with PTFE-coated fiberglass on the inside and outside. This expansion joint material is used on our U-Belts, Flat Belts and Custom Shapes.

Chemshield III ®
Excellent chemical resistance and flexing properties.  Manufactured from 100% PTFE resins in a layered cross-pattern for excellent strength properties.  Thickness available from 12 mils to 60 mils. This expansion joint material is used on our U-Belts, Flat Belts and Custom Shapes.

FlexLam
®
High temperature material using a ChemShield outer layer laminated to a woven fiberglass cloth.  Very durable and rated for temperatures up to 1000°F.  Can be supplied as "Flat Style" belts or "U-Belt Style" configurations, as well as Custom Shapes.
